Why fantasy is my Favorite Genre.

If someone asks what my favorite genre is, I don't even have to think about it, it's fantasy. Always fantasy. I mean, I like other genres, I like mystery, I like romance, and chick lit, but fantasy always takes number one.

With fantasy, you have the best possibility for creativity because it's not so grounded in real life. (It's pretty obvious from the name - Fantasy).

I love the world of fantasy. In fantasy, you've got magic, elves, dragons, angels, faes, and tons of other beings not written here.

Here are some reasons why fantasy is my favorite genre

1. The world building

The world building in most fantasy novels is mind-blowing because it surpasses reality. Sometimes, when I read a fantasy novel, I get so amazed, and I'm like, "how did the author come up with this world and a whole magic system?" The creativity is exceptional and I know it's not an easy task, it's not something anyone can just do. Creating a whole new universe with fictional characters and fictional towns, and being able to transport the readers into that world also. I grew up reading and loving Harry Potter, and I desperately wanted my hogwarts letter to arrive (deep, deep, down, I'm secretly still hoping for my owl to arrive). Wouldn't it just be amazing to go into a new world where anything is possible?

2. Magic and Magical Creatures.

What's a fantasy book without magic? A fantasy novel is incomplete without the element of magic. Also another reason to love fantasy are the creatures involved in the plot. It's amazing reading about these mystical creatures. The creatures can be likeable and maybe mysterious, having magical creatures definitely helps spark up my imagination. It's interesting to see how the creatures interact with the protagonist or maybe they're sidekicks to the antagonist? It's always interesting to read. Fantasy always has the most amazing creatures, dragons, mermaids, elves, faeries, gods and it's always interesting to read about them because they form an integral part of the story.

3. Adventure.

Another thing a fantasy novel is going to have is adventure. There's always going to be an adventure, and with magic going on, and sinister bad guys, and the creatures, you're always going in for a thrill.

4. Very Pretty covers

I looooove pretty things. I'm always looking forward to a new fantasy book release. Fantasy book covers are always so different, with swirling fonts, and maybe a beautiful creature on the cover, there's so much variety in fantasy book covers in comparison to other genres.

In conclusion, I feel fantasy is the best genre out there, because it is for people of all ages, and also encompasses other genres. You've got, fantasy romance, YA fantasy, middle grade fantasy, etc. There is always a fun and exciting element while reading.
